My route to Rexroth
I had my first contact with Rexroth at the Hanover Trade Fair in 1999, as a newly qualified mechanical engineer. I learned all about the company at its stand, and I came away with a very positive impression. Being a technology fan myself, I was particularly interested by Rexroth's extensive product range and the diverse applications in which Rexroth components can be used.
My current activities at Rexroth
At the moment I'm working in Pre-development and Design of mobile controllers. Among other things, I work on the design and simulation of new valve concepts followed by engineering of the finished solution and monitoring of solution testing—often directly on our customers' machines. I'm also responsible for the prototype piston process.
My personal experiences with Rexroth
In the time I've been here, I have encountered many colleagues and supervisors who have accumulated vast (professional) experience during their many years of work, and they were glad to pass it on—I've often benefited from that. But I've also had a chance to gain my own experience: In the last few years at Rexroth, I've seen a little of what goes on in so many development departments, from pressure valve development to the development of energy cylinders to project planning for a ferry docking arrester system. I've also been able to spend several months working in my home country, at our Dutch national company.
My professional future with Rexroth
In the medium term, I would like very much to move into management, first as the head of a small team of employees tasked with pursuing new developments and testing them directly on customers' machines.
