For hatch opening cylinders, the usage of tie rod cylinders is recommended, as for example TRB or PRA series. The main function of this pneumatic cylinder is to open and close the gas cover, for example to give a possibility to change the anodes or for maintenance of the pot.
Our cylinder for opening the gas cover is constructed according to customer requirements with a maximum speed of 0.1 m/s and has an average frequency of 20 cycles per 24 hours maximum.

The main function of the dosing cylinder is to handle the mechanical dosing unit. Dosing cylinders are working in rough environmental conditions such as heat, dust and magnetic field, so they must be made from special materials and equipped with special sealings.
Our cylinders based on PRA or TRB series exactly fit the precise requirements of the applications. Thus, they guarantee high efficiency. The dosing cylinder can reach a maximum speed of 1.0 m/s, is suitable for high temperatures up to 120 °C and has an average frequency of 800 cycles per 24 hours maximum.
